The House of Oceans is an Aqua Terra Zoo known far beyond Austria's borders in the heart of the 6th district, south of the Mariahilfer-Strasse in Vienna. The zoo's special feature is that it has made a World War II flak tower its home. Since its opening in 1957, the house of oceans and its attractions have delighted over 640,000 visitors a year, making it one of the most visited attractions in the city of Vienna.

Thanks to the installed low-pressure water fog extinguishing system EconAqua®, the newly built glass façade on the east side of the building is protected against vertical spread of flames in the event of a fire. Due to the lower water consumption and stronger fogging of the EconAqua®, a fire is fought faster and the building is less damaged than with conventional sprinkler systems. Furthermore, the extinguishing system could be installed in a room in the old building due to the small amount of space required, and the new building could be used unhindered for aquariums, animal enclosures and office space.
