Project

The Libyan Iron and Steel Company (LISCO) is one of the largest industrial company in Libya and is located on an area of 1,200 hectares near the city of Misurata, about 210 kilometers east of the capital city of Tripoli. The company has a design capacity of 1,324 million tons of liquid steel per year employing direct reduction of iron pellets using domestic natural gas.

The project was divided into two (2) parts. The first part, Service and Maintenance Project, comprises of rehabilitation and replacement of Fire Alarm and Detection System, Water Extinguishing System, Fire Pump System, and Foam Extinguishing System (Oil Tank Fire Protection). The second part, Halon Replacement Project, covers the replacement of Halon Gas Extinguishing Systems (26 tons) for 256 extinguishing areas with Nitrogen (IG-100) Clean Agent Gas Extinguishing System. A total of 1600 cylinders of 80 liters and 300 bars filling pressure was installed. Refilling Station for 300 bar Nitrogen (IG-100) gas cylinders was also delivered to service the empty cylinders after discharge. The station has two (2) high pressure compressor to fill-up the gas cylinders, the nitrogen gas was produced by LISCO through their own Gas Separation Plant. Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Gas Extinguishing System was also installed for the Gas Turbine

Scope of suply:

  • Service and Maintenance of fire alarm and detection systems and water-based, foam, and gas extinguishing systems
  • Service and Maintenance of fire pump system, deluge valves for water spray systems, and foam monitors
  • Repair and Rehabilitation (sand blasting, painting) of Air-Water Pressurized Water Tank for Transformer Water Spray System
  • Supply of new foam agents
  • Supply of new fire alarm and detection system monitoring system for the fire station
  • Decommissioning of old Halon Gas Extinguishing System
  • Installation of new Nitrogen (IG-100) Clean Agent Gas Extinguishing System
  • Installation for new CO2 Gas Extinguishing System for the Gas Turbine
